Studied Commercial Art, Hobart Technical College, Fine Art, Bendigo Institute of Technology.

Activities

1975-1980

> Co-established a gallery in Bendigo, taught with Council for Adult Education, published four books of pen drawings.
>
Wrote and illustrated "Bendigo - Golden Age Retraced"
> Mural - Bendigo Cinema Complex (600cm x 185cm).
> Paintings - Bendigo Credit Union, Bendigo Advertiser
> Numerous public and private commissions

1980

> Co-established "The Elgin Gallery"

1981

> Published "Vision Splendid, Geelong" to commemorate 50th Anniversary of Apex and visit to Geelong of H.R.H. the Prince of Wales.

1997

> Jan Neil Studio established, including gallery. Carlton, Victoria.
> Ongoing public and private commissions.
> Exhibitions.

1999

> Introduction of Jan Neil Oz Images - Limited Edition Prints.

2000

> Exhibited in Birmingham, U.K. - World Art Fair
> Exporting Limited Editions and Originals U.K. and Asia.

2002

> Jan Neil Studio moves to new, purpose-built gallery in Clifton Hill, Melbourne.

2003

> Images published in "Selected Contemporary Artists of Australia" by Michael Berry, (Krisipin P/L, Kunyung, Australia, 2003).

> Ongoing experimentation and personal and artistic development.
